Am I the only one who's an RPG fan who totally doesn't see the worth in it?

Bioware isn't exactly A1 in anything, imnsho

Further, as far as I bothered to watch the runs of it already up (woo hoo for piracy and the intarwebz), I haven't seen too much that isn't a mirror of a certain two games that I predicted it'd be like about 6 months ago or so...

Boo being right... I'm sure Stef knows this feeling >_>

Play Baldur's Gate 2.  Now.

But yeah, it's obviously not a full-on hardcore RPG, and neither should it be treated as such.

1up just gave this game a 9.5. I think now is the time for the "Sonic Chronicles is awesome" page on the site news.
Ever know what its like to get pwned by a book? Sonic certainly does.

NO.

1up is a pile of bullshit and chips. I would know, I subscribed to their magazine for 2 years.

EDIT: Oh wait, just remembered. 1up was the type that generally hates games if they don't involve ramming bullets up someone's ass, so giving an arbitrary sonic-y RPG a 9.5 is interesting.

Sondow, at least pirate the game if you have no moral objections to it and are endlessly negative about it <_<

I'm not endlessly negative about chronicles, I just don't trust 1up's opinion.

Plus I'm too lazy to baleet other crap on my r4 to make room for chronicles

I think all these game reviewers are putting too much credit into this game. Its not that bad...yet it has its flaws.

After playing it a bit, I'm quite liking it. Touch screen controls were a pain at first, but they've become tolerable.

Nowhere near the high standard of any other Bioware game, but a lot better than recent Sega stuff.

Official TSC Challenge time.

Objective: Create and post the most broken party set up you can think of. Since I posted this first, I'll take the first shot.

-Party: Sonic, Amy, Big, Cream.
-Techs: Maxed out Axe Kick, max Fast Ball, max Blow Kiss, max Taunt, max Feel no Pain, Max Demoralize, max Tough, level 2+ Refresh, rest up to you.
-Chao: Cheese, Chao that forces one enemy to attack equipped character, party HP regeneration and Party PP regeneration.
-Tactics: 1st turn: Axe Kick, Blow Kiss (Sonic), Taunt (toughest enemy), Demoralize, Fast Ball, attack. 2nd Turn. With Sonic and Amy, depends on PP left. Feel No Pain, Tough (Big). 3rd Turn: refesh. Loop to first turn.
-Notes: This party is more centered on control than on raw aggression. Designed to fight bosses.
Ever know what its like to get pwned by a book? Sonic certainly does.

I find Team Sonic and Amy quite effective.

Team: Sonic, Tails, Knuckles, Amy

Chao: one regenerating PP on all team members, one regenerating PP on Tails, one that gives you extra items in battle, one whatever/Cheese/one that finds rare chao easily.

Pick a large, tough opponent.
Let Sonic Defend (if low on PP)
Use Scan
Use Adrenaline Rush on Sonic
Use Blow Kiss on Sonic
Use Hail Strom on next round

Watch tough enemies die in one hit.

>.>
<.<

EDIT: ... yeah, let me add a few things I forgot.

Specs: Let Sonic hold the item Economizer (makes POW moves cost one less PP), and one character the Angle Amulet ( has a "... "% chance to revive a fainted comrade).

This tactic is great on bosses and tank opponents that have a lot of HP and/or armor. The rest of the moves is up to you. Having Axe Kick only cost 3 POW points and letting Sonic move 4 times on the next round will decimate the rest of the enemies.

I believe Sonic Chronicles is a good game as far as RPGs go. My friend has it so he told me about it.

EDIT: This topic was almost dead so I gave it a Senzu Bean before it dies.
